The Challenge
Finding an economical solution to manage student-owned devices on school premises to prevent misuse
Arcadia wanted a cost-effective solution to manage student-owned devices and limit usage to the school premises. They aimed to prevent students from misusing their personally-owned devices inside the school. By restricting access to selected apps and websites during school hours, they wanted to avoid the use of these devices for non-essential purposes. To reduce the cost to the company, they sought an MDM solution for managing all student-owned devices.

A cost-effective MDM software for limiting device usage to educational purposes while allowing effortless content distribution at once
Scalefusion offered a transformative solution to Arcadia’s challenges. It provided a unified platform to manage, control, and secure student-owned devices inside the school. This ensured a focused and protected learning environment. Most importantly, a GPS-based profile switch was designed to trigger once the student devices entered the school premises. The device then transformed into an educational gadget—only allowing apps and websites that contained “for school” content. Using kiosk mode, the school locked the devices into a single app or multi-app mode. Once a student left the geofence-based location of the school zone, the device transformed back into a personal device with access to all other applications. It was also ensured that the school could not access any personal data or information on the devices.
Simultaneous app & content distribution to all devices was enabled with Scalefusion’s application and content management feature. Additionally, Wi-Fi configuration helped student devices automatically connect to the school network once inside the campus. The browser management feature further ensured students could not access unsafe websites on their devices within the school premises.
Scalefusion MDM acted as a bundled software for Arcadia Global School, becoming a sustainable and cost-effective long-run solution.
