Established in 1999, Technica Mining, a superior underground mining and construction contractor of a Division of Technica Group Inc., boasts an outstanding safety record. The company employs a large group of workers known for their field expertise, and together, they efficiently drive the timely completion of their customers’ outsourcing requirements and take care of their full site operation. Over the last 16 years, they have quickly grown their underground services portfolio and extended expertise in mechanized and non-mechanized lateral, ramp and raise development, production drilling and mining, mine finance, and blasting.

The Challenge

Tracking real-time location and monitoring devices remotely to improve overall productivity

Technica wanted to introduce and implement digital offerings to its employees to align with the expansion of their business units rapidly from one area of competency to another. They wanted to allow their employees to complete their organizational tasks in a stipulated period. There was a need to deploy kiosk lockdown in the digital offerings to keep its field force as productive as per the organizational needs and keep track of employee activities too.

Technica delegated organization-based Android tablets to its employees to serve this purpose. However, they encountered a challenge when they were unable to manage the company-owned Android device’s applications and features. On the contrary, the IT admins, too, didn’t have access to the geographical locations of these devices. They needed a solution to confront those issues with time management and updates of the enterprise applications to the latest versions and tackle the boulder of gaining access control.
