Is it possible to use a browser shortcut as the default application?
Yes, it is possible to use any browser shortcut as a default app

  1. On the dashboard, go to Devices tab

  2. Click on View details from the device of your choice.

  3. Scroll down and you will see apps and browser shortcuts on a tablet.

  4. Click on MobiLock Browser app. A panel will appear on the right-hand side corner.

  5. If the app is already enabled, then click on the Set Default toggle button and save the settings

  6. Enter the link of the browser shortcut that you want to set as a default application in the Default URL below.

  7. Click on APPLY

This will make a browser shortcut as a default application on the device.

MobiLock Browser and Android System Webview limitations in devices with OS 4.4.4 and below.

In OS 4.4.4 and below, Android system webview is OS specific which makes it difficult to update unless an OS update is available. Whereas on Chrome, Firefox, etc. the app keeps updating and hence a website works.

The only reason where MobiLock Browser faces challenges with 4.4.4 and below, as it uses webview component to work and sometimes the Android System.

Webview app is not installed/Updated and hence the website might not work as expected.

Getting "Admin has blocked" error message.

The user will see this message when their whitelisted website address redirecting to a different URL that is not whitelisted.

Auto-publish option- what it does?

The Auto Publish option will automatically Publish the Whitelist website created to all the devices.

How can I hide the address bar?

  1. On the dashboard, go to Whitelisting Websites

  2. Click on Browser Settings

  3. You will see a popup, Disable the Display Browser Address Bar option.

  4. Click on Save.

  5. This will hide your address bar in the MobiLock Browser on the device and will not allow the user to type in URLs to navigate.
